WORKING - Line Notes 4/17

Hi all -

As I mentioned during rehearsal, there are no line notes! You all did amazing the first run through of Act 2, that I had no major notes. There were a few words missed or similar words used, but overall nothing that I want to nit-pick you on.

You all are wonderful people and doing a great job!

As a reminder - next week's schedule:

Monday - Full Run, Whitney will not be there
Wednesday - sitz probe, singing with the band (bring your books!!!)
Thursday - Full Run
Saturday - Cleaning!!!  We need to clean the green room and the auditorium in preparation for tech week. If you are able, please come.
Tech Sunday - We will be doing a full run (possibly 2 runs) with tech - time for cast to arrive TBD

Thanks!

WORKING - Line Notes & Updates 4/12

Hi all!

Below is the link to the line notes (again found on the Blog & FB in case you misplace this e-mail because it's from me):

I will be at the set build tomorrow, Saturday 04/12 @ 10am - with donuts if I don't forget.

Send your "working" selfies or photo taken of you "working" to this e-mail address. (*cough cough* Kyndra).

Please bring in your dead cell phone, if you said you would and/or you have one! :)

We need ushers for the show! If you know someone that wants to see the show for FREE with a little bit of "please this way to your seat" or "bathroom is over there", then shoot them this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a094fa8a622a6fc1-ushers2

We need to sell tickets y'all! So, invite your family, friends, your third cousin's boyfriend's best friend's mother-in-law - have them come out and see what you have been working on since the end of January!

Mic Drop.

WORKING - Line Notes 4/10

Hi everyone!

I have added the Google Sheets link as a permanent feature on the right side of the blog underneath the "List o' Links." This was also added at the top announcement on FB. Please note that this will be live updated during rehearsal - regardless of if I send out this e-mail. So please find the link on FB, Blog, or save this e-mail. :)

Thanks!

Please see the Google Sheet document (direct link below). You can filter out by your name or page. I tried to catch your paraphrasing, but some of you paraphrased the entire paragraph. I can type fast, but not that fast. ;)

Also, please remember to wear a solid black shirt for Wednesday. Black dress. Black blouse. Black t-shirt. Black whatever. No logos.

I need "working" selfie (or non-selfie?) photos from the following people:
- Clare
- Helen
- Kyndra
- Jazz
- Kevin
- Production peoples (ALL OF YOU!!! except for Amanda, Amy, and Whitney - the on time people)

WORKING - Head Shots

Hello everyone!

Please wear a black top to rehearsal on Wednesday as Kristy, our wonderful photographer, will be taking your head shots!

We will also be taking publicity shots in costumes - Amanda will be there to coordinate what you will be wearing.

Again as a note, Sunday's rehearsal is cancelled - if you missed Amy's e-mail.

Have a nice weekend!
Whitney

Sunday rehearsal cancelled

Rather than invent things to work on and drag everyone to the playhouse to do it, everyone spend the time catching up on laundry and getting off book.

See you Monday

WORKING Updates

Hello all!

I have a few updates that I want to call to your attention.

1) We are going to be running Act 1 on Wednesday and Act 2 on Friday. This is the opposite of what is on the schedule.

2) Off book deadline begins Monday, April 8th. That is one week from today! Please do not hesitate to call for a line, as this will be my focus. Also, I will be keeping line notes during rehearsal that calls out re-wording, missed words, extra words, etc. and sending out to the cast at the end of the night for each rehearsal.

3) If you have not already sent your bio to Elaine, please do so immediately. Her e-mail is: eavolker@gmail.com

4) Please send us your "at work" selfies as soon as you can to this e-mail address: workingtdw@gmail.com . We need to make sure to send this off to Scott who is creating our projection video.

5) As a fun note - if any one is interested, in previous productions the cast/crew has gotten brunch together on Sundays before the show. If this is something that interests you, please let me know and I can coordinate!! I have eaten brunch at a couple of places with cast/crew: Northside Yacht Club, Incline Public House (my personal fav.), and The Public House - Cheviot. Also open to suggestions for new places to try that are semi-close to the theater! I typically would schedule the brunch from 10:30-12:30ish before call.

I hope you all are as excited as we are that this production is coming together!

Monday schedule

Sorry this is late!!!

Now that some of the times overlap.... I'm planning to have Jeff working in the lobby during some of the times I'm in the house.... Also notice the drop in time. Anyone who uses pantomime in their scenes is encouraged to drop in for pointers.

7-7:30 Roberta/Candy
7-7:30 Jazz&Jeff work on masonry mime
7:30-7:45 Mason
7:45-9:15 Delivery (music first, then choreo)
*During this time, all interested parties work with Jeff on your pantomime
9:15-10 Millwork (probably not that long but delivery might go longer)

Sunday, March 31, 2019

Sunday schedule

6-6:45 Cleaning Women
6:45-7 Charlie/Ralph
7-7:30 Fathers and Sons

Those of you who want to audition for Home Brew....
I think probably Monday will be your best time to do that. Let me know tonight who all is interested and I'll arrange the TBDs accordingly

Re: Schedule for Friday 3/29 rehearsal

Hey everyone!!!

We're going to need some bodies to hold things in place for building the back wall in Saturday. Starting at 10.

If you need to check with spouses or others about your availability, try to do that before coming to rehearsal tonight.

Thanks!

Rehearsal Schedule Wednesday 3/27

An email I received brought up an excellent point about tonight.

The schedule is pp. 17 - 36
(Brother Trucker through Could've Been)

This means that for a lot of you, you aren't involved at all until "If I Could've Been".

"Brother Trucker" will possibly want some music review (it's learned, but it's challenging).
Millwork staging/choreo for the millworkers hasn't been learned yet - so that's going to take some time.

I'd say that it's probably a safe bet that if you're not involved in Brother Trucker, we won't need you until 7:30 or so at the earliest. If you're not involved until the last number, you can do other things until at least 9:00. If it turns out I'm wrong, we'll find things to work on with the folks who are present until everyone's there.

Here's the schedule I will have in my mind - subject to shifting as we go

7:00 - Brother Trucker
7:30 - Just a Housewife
7:50 - UPS
8:00 - Candy/Roberta
8:15 - Millwork
9:15 - If I Could've Been
9:45 - sing through Delivery  if there's time

See you tonight!!

WORKING - Schedule

Hey all!

Since a few have been confused on what days they are needed at rehearsals, I have updated the schedule to be easier to read. I will bring printed copies at Friday's rehearsal.

This schedule will be updated on Facebook and the blog:

Please see attached and let me know if you have any questions!

Re: WORKING - Updates

Just a quick reminder about the postcards.  If you decide to mail these out, please put postage on the postcard.  Otherwise, the postcard will not reach your recipient.  The bulk mail stamp that is there is only for very large mailouts sent one time and charged to TDW.  Individual cards need their own postage.

As mentioned during rehearsal, please take a poster and mailer as you come to rehearsal. Ask your friends, family, work, and even your favorite haunts to hang the signs up! Promote this show to everyone so they will come see what you are working so hard on! :)

Also - Elaine needs your bio for the program. This can be 75-100 words (unless otherwise noted by Elaine). Please provide this to her as soon as you can. Her e-mail is eavolker@gmail.com

WORKING Rehearsals - Parking

Good morning everyone!

I wanted to send out a friendly e-mail to share with the newcomers the best locations to park when coming to rehearsal tonight and moving forward.

There is street parking on Glenmore Road and on the north side of Gamble Avenue. Please see the  picture below - the yellow boxes are the on-street parking areas.

You can also park in 3 of the parking lots. The pay lot (lot #2) that is next to the theater is free after 6. You can park in the bank lot (lot #3) after hours as well. Lot #1 is the strip lot behind the commercial buildings on Glenmore Road and this is the biggest lot of the three. You can access this lot from Glenmore Road by turning onto Kessen Avenue or off of Harrison Avenue. Note: there is a small walk way between the bar and bank that you can walk through to get to Glenmore Road (so you don't have to walk all the way around).

Please let me know if you need anything else! I will be at the theater at 6pm today.

See you soon!

Whitney

Link to music track files

------ Forwarded message ---------
From: Allen Lindsey <alindsey@gmail.com>
Date: Mon, Feb 18, 2019, 9:26 AM
Subject: Rehearsal tracks for Working
To: <workingtdw@gmail.com>

Hello fearless leaders. Could someone please forward this to the cast?

As promised I have uploaded rehearsal tracks to assist with learning your voice parts.
They can be found here:

For the moment don't lean too heavily on All The Livelong Day and Something to Point to for the solo lines. I recorded them based on the score and as Amy has re-assigned a lot of those lines so I need to go through the book with the breakdown of who sings what and re-work those a bit.

In the folder for each song you'll find mp3 files that are marked either "lead" for the main soloist in the song, i.e. Frank in "Brother Trucker" or "Delores" in "It's an Art" and the ensemble parts marked as W!, W2, W3, M1, M2, and M3. In each file the accompaniment and vocal parts for the other ensemble members panned to the left speaker/earphone, your part is on the right side played on a different sound to distinguish it from the rest.

If you have difficulty accessing the tracks or if it would just be more convenient to do so, I am happy to burn your set of files to a CD, just let me know.

One final thing, I had asked that everyone at the first meeting to get in touch with me regarding setting up a time to work on your individual solos before we start vocal rehearsals for the ensemble numbers as noted on the schedule you should all have received. So far I have heard from only two people. I realize several people were not able to make it to the meeting on the 10th, so I thought I should send a brief reminder and also let those know who weren't there.
The one-on-ones to work on your solos are being done at my house, rather than having to have someone come down and open up the Playhouse for brief rehearsals that only involve two people. I live in Covedale, about 5 minutes from the Glenmore Playhouse.

Please feel free to hit me up via email, alindsey@gmail.com, or call/text me at 513-582-7512.

Hope you are all well!

Allen

UPDATE!!!!! Re: WORKING meet-and-greet scheduled!

Hey gang -

Because the cast of "Love, Loss and What I Wore" missed a few rehearsals due to weather, we are going to be in the "new space" tonight so they can have the theater.

This is a building on Harrison, just around the corner from the Glenmore Playhouse.

3619 Harrison
For Parking I suggest the 5th 3rd Bank lot right across the street. You could also park at Stone's Restaurant lot as they are not open Sundays or Cappell's since they'll be closed.

The building is in between "Game Time" and a Pawn Shop and the old sign for "Angels Touch" is still there.

Call me (513-505-6166) or Mark (513-460-3555) or Whitney (859-640-0084) if you can't find us.

See you soon!!

Amy

Hi Gang!

The holidays are wrapped up and the decorations put away (at least mine are - finally), so it's time to get together and meet each other!

We're all set to meet at the Playhouse on Sunday February the 10th from 6-8pm and I've invited two friends to join us:

JANET STEELE - will share some pointers/advice/foundations for storytelling
JEFF NIEMAN - will share some pointers/advice/foundations for pantomime

We'll also do a little bit of housekeeping and info-distribution (let me know if you have requests regarding sharing your info) - maybe get measured by the costumer.

I won't promise to have a full rehearsal schedule, but I'm kind of hoping I can put it together for you by then.

To that end - please reply to this email in the next few days with ANY conflicts or not-available times you have between the 10th and May. My expectation is that potential rehearsal times will be 7-10 Mon, Tues, Wed - possibly Fri but I'll try to lay off that day, and Sun 3-6 or 6-9. Because of an obligation of mine, I won't schedule Thurs except when unavoidable, but Allen might want to. Saturdays are set build days (everyone is expected to pitch in).

Tentatively the plan is this:

Feb through Early March
  • three character-development workshops that will each focus on 4 people's primary characters, with anyone invited to weigh in (I like collaborative input!)
  • Allen will be scheduling individual appointments with soloists
Mid-March through Mid-April
  • "normal" rehearsal schedule with music, blocking, continuing character work
Mid-April through Show time
  • runs and working trouble-spots
April 28 - tech sunday, followed by "tech week"

May 3 - OPENING!

All of a sudden it feels really close, after a long time of it being a long way off..........I'm super-excited!

See you on the 10th!!

Amy
